Welcome to Chawla & Co's new blog! In case you haven't noticed yet, we have redesigned our website - from scratch! We are really excited and we believe that the new website is more professional, user-friendly and, hopefully, interesting too.
Although our previous website was cool as well, we think this new designer is a bit cooler! So, lets draw a comparison between our previous website and the new one:
- HTML vs CMS - Our previous website was completely based of HTML. So, that meant that in order to change or add content, we had to do it manually by editing HTML code! With CMS, even not-so-technical people like accountants can easily edit or add more content on the website! So, now we can bring you more interesting articles and provide better information about our services. Isn't that cool?
- Flash navigation vs HTML - Although Flash does look quite flashy, its something accessibility guys stay away from, since it doesn't play along well with screen readers, a device used by people with disabilities . Earlier, we had Flash based main navigation menu, but now we have completely HTML/CSS based. Thanks to our web developers for pointing this out to us!
- Colour scheme and branding - With our previous website, our branding was not defined as strongly as we would like. This time, we have emphasised on creating a stronger brand identity, more consistent colour scheme, and colour-coded our various services based on the type. We hope this will make navigation a breeze and more intuitive.
Personally, I love the new colour scheme and branding - it's more professional and just looks better! Our web developers leveraged the power of the Joomla! CMS, an open source CMS, in order to achieve the final result. I would like to personally thank our web designers/developers - Iota Arts, once again, for the great job done, and wish them all the best for the future.
